Center for Community College Partnerships

The Center for Community College Partnerships (CCCP) develops and strengthens partnerships between California Community Colleges and the UC System. Through various programs and resources, CCCP works to empower students from diverse backgrounds, particularly those historically underrepresented in higher education, to achieve their academic and professional goals. These initiatives encompass academic preparation, transfer guidance, research opportunities, and career exploration, all grounded in principles of social justice and educational equity.

CCCP works closely with community college administrators, faculty, and staff to:

  • Create strong academic support programs
  • Improve students’ academic preparation and competitiveness for admission to the university
  • Increase the diversity of UCLA’s transfer admit pool

By fostering collaboration between community colleges and universities, CCCP plays a pivotal role in facilitating access to higher education and promoting student success.

CCCP Scholars Program

The CCCP Scholars Program aims to empower California community college students, particularly those from underserved backgrounds, to successfully transfer to four-year institutions like UCLA. Through a comprehensive year-long program, students receive academic support, guidance in the transfer process, and opportunities for research, pre-graduate experiences, and career exploration.

Grounded in principles of academic excellence, social justice, and educational equity, the program offers a structured pathway to maximize community college experience and prepare students for success in higher education. Eligible students must be California residents from diverse backgrounds, including first-generation college students, low-income individuals, non-traditional students, and those from historically underserved communities.

Transfer Alliance Program

The Transfer Alliance Program (TAP) allows students at participating California community colleges to enhance their ability to transfer to UCLA at the junior level. TAP students are certified by the honors/scholars program counselor/coordinator after completing the honors or scholars’ program at participating community colleges.

Applicants are then given priority consideration for admission to majors in the College of Letters and Sciences, and for the following undergraduate majors: public health, public affairs, and education and social transformation.

Program requirements may vary from college to college. For questions on  applying to TAP, connect with the Honors (or Scholars) Program at your school.

CCCP Retention Program

Once CCCP Scholars enroll at UCLA or other baccalaureate-granting institutions, CCCP Scholars receive support through CCCP Retention Program, designed to facilitate the empowerment of CCCP transfer scholars from diverse backgrounds, helping them to thrive personally, academically, and professionally.

CCCP Research and Policy

The Center for Community College Partnerships (CCCP) is working toward the establishment of its research and policy arm, dedicated to informing academic development practices through equity-minded and culturally affirming frameworks. CCCP contributes to scholarship focused on transfer issues, ultimately fostering transfer-sending and transfer-receptive cultures. By leveraging the leadership and success of  peer mentors, scholars, and alumni, along with the collaborative efforts of staff and faculty at universities and community colleges, CCCP aims to drive meaningful change in higher education.
