Disability Studies

The Bachelor of Arts Disability Studies program, launched in Fall 2023, is the first of its kind degree program within the UC System. Led by some of UCLA’s most distinguished faculty, this interdisciplinary program examines the nature, meaning, and consequences of disability from a variety of perspectives, including arts and humanities, health sciences, social sciences, public policy, technology, and education.

Disability Studies Inclusion Labs


UCLA’s Disability Studies Inclusion Labs bring together diverse networks of people to reframe our cultural norms, societal practices, and institutional policies around disability. The Labs connect UCLA students, faculty, and staff with community networks to examine themes demanding our attention, advocacy and re-invention. Labs have included the Dancing Disability Lab, Social Media Access for All (SoMAA) Lab, and Sports and Society Lab.
